DDP Yoga

Aside from being three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, two-time WCW United States Heavyweight Champion and four-time WCW World Tag Team Champion, Diamond Dallas Page has yet another facet to his personality. The wresting icon has been an avid Power Yoga practitioner since 1998 when he was recovering from ruptures to his L4/L5 discs. His wife Kimberly and Dr. Craig Aaron brought him into power yoga, which further helped him regain his flexibility and strength. Later, Page went on to design a hybrid yoga workout called DDP YOGA that combines calisthenics, active breathing techniques and rehabilitation techniques with yoga.

DDP Yoga explained

DDP Yoga is a highly challenging yet results-oriented cardio workout promotes body fat loss and allows practitioners to increase lean muscle development. As the pro-wrestler turned fitness guru explains it, the DDP Yoga involves the use of Dynamic Resistance technique, which requires trainees to evolve resistance to do various power exercises that they think to be beyond their capabilities. It’s similar to lifting a weight without actually doing it. So, in DPP Yoga, practitioners almost break a sweat while doing a simple pose.

Since DDP Yoga practitioners use their muscles so much, their heart rate climbs close to fat-burning zone, which is definitely higher than when doing normal yoga. Further, it focuses on deep breathing and pose modification when necessary.

The nutrition guide also plays an important role, which involves a three-step healthy eating plan. Overweight trainees are asked to eat dairy-, gluten-free, organic foods. Those who are normal are encouraged to follow sample meal plans and change their diet accordingly.

Benefits – Who needs DDP Yoga?

1. Anyone who wishes to achieve his health goals and become stronger, leaner and more flexible should do DPP Yoga. Moreover, as earlier stated, it’s the most apt cardio workout for anyone who wants to lose weight faster.

2. The workout engages your mind as well. Therefore, it helps you improve your focus and develop a positive mindset.

3. By using a heart rate monitor, practitioners may notice how effective this yoga style actually is.
